Before you begin
- An active WBT Web Solutions account (request access if you don't have one).
- Administrator access to your online store.
- A BigCommerce store where you can install apps — WBT FFL Finder is a single-click BigCommerce app.
- No mapping API key to buy or manage — the dealer map uses OpenStreetMap and is served by WBT FFL Finder.
1 Create your WBT account
Sign in at the customer login page, or request access by emailing support@wbtwebsolutions.com. Once your account is active, log in to access your dashboard and installation credentials.
2 Install WBT FFL Finder on your store
Installation depends on your platform. Follow the section that matches your store:
BigCommerce App Marketplace
From your BigCommerce control panel, open Apps → Marketplace, search for "WBT FFL Finder", click Install, and approve the requested permissions. WBT FFL Finder adds its widget to your checkout automatically — there's no script to paste and no map key to configure.
3 Map your categories & set your compliance profile
Open Settings and map your product categories to their classes — firearm, ammunition, barrel, AB 1263 part, and non-gated — with the category picker. Then choose your compliance profile: California to turn on AB 1263, the 11% excise, and ammo/barrel gating, or None for a clean firearms-only setup. This is what tells WBT FFL Finder which items need a transfer, ID, or fees.
4 Add your preferred dealers
Preferred dealers appear at the top of customer search results. Go to Dealers → Preferred and add the FFLs you want to prioritize (for example, your own locations or partner shops). You can reorder them to control priority.
5 Set up ID verification
Under Settings → ID Verification, choose your provider. Self-host captures the buyer's acknowledgment, government photo ID, and signature at checkout and stores it securely for your records. Set your ID-delivery preference (email the ID, email a secure link, or storage-only). Where AB 1263 applies, verification runs automatically for qualifying orders.
6 Confirm your fees, excise & sales tax
With the California profile selected, AB 1263 and the 11% excise are active automatically. Open the Fee Schedule to set your transfer/DROS, shipping, and excise amounts — each fee can be turned on, priced, and renamed. If your store doesn't already collect tax, turn on a flat sales-tax rate under Settings. (AB 1263 has been in effect since January 1, 2026.)
7 Test in checkout
Place a test order with an FFL-required item. Confirm that: the finder opens automatically, the map and radius search return nearby dealers, your preferred dealer appears first, ID verification prompts as expected, the correct transfer fees and tax apply, and any AB 1263 steps appear for California orders. Fix configuration under the relevant Settings panel if anything looks off.
8 Go live
Once your test order looks right, switch the integration to Live in Settings → Status. Your customers will now see WBT FFL Finder at checkout. That's it — you're live.
Troubleshooting
The finder doesn't appear at checkout. Confirm the app/snippet is installed on the correct checkout template and that the integration status is Live. Clear your cache and retry a test order.
No dealers show on the map. Confirm you've added dealers (and preferred dealers) and that the customer's ZIP falls within the search radius. The map itself needs no API key.
ID verification or AB 1263 steps aren't showing. Check that your compliance profile is set to California and that the triggering product categories are mapped correctly in Settings.
